Independent Living Centre Kingston was founded by people with disabilities in the late 1980s.The centre empowers people with disabilities to live self-sufficiently. Our organization has grown by increasing specific programs and services to support our community.

Independent Living Centre Kingston
Who is ILC Kingston
Independent Living Centre Kingston is a disability resource and support hub for everything disability. It is open to the public for appointments and walk-ins, Monday – Friday from 9am to 4pm. We are also available to assist you over the phone, by email, and by video conferencing. Our public computer lab is open and available to offer free internet access to community members Monday – Friday from 10am to 3pm. Please call us at 613-542-8353 or email us at info@ilckingston.com. Community Lending Program
The Community Lending Program provides items such as walkers, wheelchairs, shower benches, etc to individuals in need, free of charge. We also except similar type donations.

Women’s Pre-employment Program
The Women’s Pre-employment Program just launched in January 2025. The program is designed to assist women with disabilities as they work towards obtaining employment. The program will help women seek supports that address disability-specific barriers to obtaining employment, build their job search skills and network with employers in the Kingston area.

Diner’s Club
Join the Diners’ Club once a month when we visit accessible local restaurants. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy an evening out at one of your favourite restaurants or to experience somewhere new to you.

Our Services
Independent Living Centre Kingston provides knowledgeable and first hand experience to meet the needs of people with disabilities in our community, including family, friends, and local health care providers.

Access to Independence
We assist individuals in applying for programs such as the Ontario Disability Support Program and the Disability Tax Credit. We can also assist you with other disability government related forms, and funding specific applications.
Peer Support
We offer several peer support options, including one to one support in person. Our monthly Diner’s Club event provides and excellent opportunity to network and meet new people. The weekly Drop-In events will be starting soon, with some fun new activities.
Information and Support Services
We provide this service to ensure that support to people with disabilities is available and that needs are met. Now more than ever, individuals may have questions about available community services and supports. We also provide access to support on issues such as: attendant services, income supports, assistive devices, counselling services, and crisis relief programs.
Self-Managed Attendant Services, Direct Funding
The Direct Funding Program (DF) provides a more independent approach to in home Attendant Services for people with physical disabilities. Different people have different needs. DF is intended as an option suited to people with physical disabilities who are willing and able to take on the responsibilities and risks of managing their own daily attendant service needs.
