Join the Diners’ Club once a month when we visit accessible local restaurants. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy an evening out at one of your favourite restaurants or to experience somewhere new to you.
Independent Living Centre Kingston is still operating and putting measures in place to meet the needs of people with disabilities in our community
Access to Independence
We are assisting individuals in applying for programs such as the Ontario Disability Support Program and the Disability Tax Credit. Meetings are conducted by appointment, over the phone, and in some cases, using video conferencing.
We are offering one to one support in person by appointment, by phone and video conferencing during this time. We have temporarily suspended our weekly Drop In.
Information and Support Services
We are continuing to provide this service to ensure that support to people with disabilities is available and that needs are met. Now more than ever, individuals may have questions about available community services and support. We continue to provide access to support on issues such as: attendant services, income supports, assistive devices, counselling services, and crisis relief programs. We provide this service in person by appointment, over the phone, by email, and by video call.
Self-Managed Attendant Services, Direct Funding
Direct Funding participants continue to receive support by phone, email and video calls. New policies are being developed to address the unique needs arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. Direct Funding staff are working with participants to find flexible individualized solutions to meet their attendant service needs.
